Founded in 1951, Chatswood Musical Society has established itself as one of the leading musical theatre companies in the Sydney area.
The objective of CMS objectives is to promote interest and enjoyment in musical theatre, Chatswood Musical Society has established itself as one of the leading companies in the Sydney area. In addition to producing quality musical theatre, our main aim is to enjoy ourselves and develop our theatrical skills.
The society produces two/three shows annually, with a diverse range of productions on offer (please see the complete list below).
Rehearsals are held twice each week on Tuesday and Thursday nights, with additional rehearsals often scheduled closer to the show dates or as needed. The cast also have an opportunity to strut their stuff at local fairs, markets and fêtes as part of the promotional activities prior to opening night. The society holds a number of additional social activities throughout the year.
There is an Annual Membership Fee, plus a show fee for anyone performing in a show, including non 'on-stage' performers.
We encourage people for back-stage, front of house, scenery design and construction, costume making, administration.
So if you would like to be involved (in any way) in an exciting hobby or a stepping stone to a professional career - CMS could be for you!
